Why do we need to add water when vacuum pump is used

When the vacuum pump is running, it is necessary to use liquid as the working liquid, basically choosing water as the working liquid. As the impeller rotates clockwise, water is tossed around by the impeller. Due to centrifugal force, the water forms sealed rings of roughly equal thickness determined by the shape of the pump chamber. The inner surface of the lower part of the water ring is just tangent to the impeller hub. The upper inner surface of the water ring is in contact with the tip of the blade (in fact, the blade has a certain depth of insertion). At this time, a crescent-shaped space is formed between the impeller hub and the water ring, which is divided by the impeller into several small cavities with the same number of blades. If the lower part of the impeller is 0 as the starting point, when the impeller rotates 180, the volume of the small cavity from small to large, and connected with the inlet on the end face, then the gas is inhaled, when the inhalation ends, the small cavity and the inlet are isolated; When the impeller continues to rotate, the small chamber is reduced from large to small, and the gas is compressed. When the small chamber is connected with the exhaust port, the gas is discharged from the pump.


When the amount of water is reduced, its efficiency will be reduced, which will increase energy consumption and operating costs. The role of the working fluid is not only to extract the gas, but also to reduce the temperature of the pump body. The working fluid is much lower than normal, which will increase the heat value of the pump body, reduce the durability of the pump and increase maintenance costs. Therefore, the normal liquid level of the working fluid must be maintained when the water ring vacuum pump is running, which is conducive to the normal operation, maintenance and cost reduction of the pump. The working fluid can be regarded as its working power. If the power goes out, what can the vacuum pump do to fight hard?
